Scott Fischman

Scott Fischman first started playing poker when he moved to Las Vegas in 1992 - he loved it so much he became a professional dealer as soon as he turned 21. He had been dealing for just one year at The Mirage when he developed Rheumatoid Arthritis, and although that problem meant he could not continue dealing cards, he has had little difficulty making it as a pro poker player.

In his debut year and at the age of 24, Scott Fischman was the youngest player to win two, back-to-back World Series of Poker bracelets. In his first year on the tournament circuit, he was ranked 7th in the world by Card Player Magazine and grossed more than $600,000 for 2004.

Scott's first professional tournament was in January of 2004 at The Grand American Poker Classic in Tunica, MS where he placed 4th. Since then he has appeared at nine final tables, including those at the Orleans Open, the Mirage Poker Showdown and the coveted World Series of Poker Events; where he unexpectedly defeated two poker giants: former WSOP champion Joe Awada in the No-Limit Hold'em competition, and John Cover in a record-breaking H.O.R.S.E. victory.

His impressive run continued when he won the World Poker Tour Young Guns of Poker invitational tournament at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. By being victorious at this winner-take-all tournament, Fischman earned a $25,000 seat in the 2005 WPT Championship. However, what has really made Fischman a star is television - whether it's beating Annie Duke, Dennis Wager, and David Sklansky in The National Heads-up Poker Championship on NBC to advance to the round of eight or being featured by ESPN during the 2004 World Series of Poker, Fischman and his group of poker buddies, are show-cased by television as the new generation of poker.

More recently, Fischman finished 2nd in the first event of the 2005 World Series of Poker, beating out the largest field for a preliminary event in the history of the World Series of Poker and cashing close to half a million dollars.

Fischman is also an avid internet player, constantly winning major online tournaments and considered one of the foremost online players. Scott has poured all his knowledge of the online game into The Fish Tank, making it a fantastic place to play your online poker!
